Our Mission
To help disadvantaged children
gain self-sufficiency and self-reliance.
We believe that necessities, such as education and healthcare, are fundamental to achieving self-reliance in underprivileged children. Through building a set of interrelated programs, supported by donations and 100% of our own service profits, we have been able to form strong academic foundations while also providing resources to assist in day to day living.
Our Founding Story
“Wherever there is people in need, we will be there to lend a helping hand.”
Aid to Children Without Parents (ACWP) was founded in 1988 by Mr. Nguyen Dinh Huu and a group of professionals, originally as a response to support the critical needs of Vietnamese minors who were displaced and detained in various refugee camps throughout Southeast Asia. With help from friends and family, we were able to establish free classes, healthcare and youth programs for thousands of children.
Today, the mission remains: to help disadvantaged children gain self sufficiency and self-reliance through interrelated programs. With the support of our network and services, our foundation has guided generations of children to self-sustainability. We firmly believe it takes a village to raise a child and if we work together on creating well-equipped societies, so many other problems will simply work themselves out.
