29 Years in the making
ACWP was there at refugee camps in Hong Kong, Malaysia, Indonesia, The Philippines,Thailand, and Singapore
We were there when no one else cared  29 years later, our journey has just begun

  • 1988 Founded Aid to Refugee Children Without Parents (ARCWP) in San Jose, California to help un-accompany refugee children in refugee camps in South East Asia ( Hong Kong, Thai Lan, Malaysia, Indonesia ,Philippines, Thailand and Singapore.)
  • 1991 ARCWP was invited by United States High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) to visit Vietnam to assess the situation of repatriated minors who could not find resettlement in other third-party countries.
  • 1994 Changed name to Aid to Children Without Parents (ACWP)
  • 1995 Opened ACWP Office in Thua Thien, Hue, Central Vietnam and provided ACWP’s first free Health Care Clinic for Children
  • 1996 Lead and partnered with Bay Area Vietnamese-American organizations to raise $1M to build Vietnam Village in the Philippines enabling 1,500 Vietnamese asylum seekers of the former Palawan Refugee Camp to stay in the Philippines
  • 1996 Opened a free Health Care Clinic for Children in Thua Thien Hue (1996-2003), launched Compassion Classroom Program at Phu Hau School, Hue (1996-Present), and introduced the First Cattle Raising Program in Thuy An Province
  • 1997 Kicked off the “Youth Leadership Project” for Vietnamese youths in Santa Clara, initiated the Micro-Loan Program for families of needy repatriated refugee children, launched the Scholarships Program in Hue, and established the Emergency Relief Program
  • 1997 Constructed of the First Elementary School, Phu Hau, in Thua Thien province, Central Vietnam
  • 1998 Funded a domestic violence prevention project and citizenship class for Vietnamese Americans in the Bay Area
  • 1998 Funded operation of a Computer Training Class at Thong Nhat High School (1998-2003)
  • 1998 Funded the operation of three children with leprosy at Ben San, Song Be, Kontum, Vietnam
  • 1998 Funded a free Health Care Clinic for Children at 194 Ngo Quyen, Vinh Lac, Thi Xa Rach Gia, South Vietnam (1998-2003)
  • 1998 Launched the Corrective Surgery Program (CSP) in partnership with Hue Medical School and General Hospital (1998 - Present)
  • 1999 Funded the construction of the Dam Sam Elementary School, in Thua Thien province, Central Vietnam
  • 2000 Funded $50,000 to the construction of a Shelter for orphans in Hue ( Now running by  Friend of Hue Foundation which was founded by Nguyen Dinh Huu ,Professor James Freeman and Ms. Dang Thi Lieu ) and Cong Quan Elementary School, in Thua Thien province.
  • 2001 Funded the construction of the Hieu Thien, Quang Thai Elementary Schools, Phan Rang district, Central Vietnam
  • 2003 Funded the construction of the Quang Tho Elementary School, Thua Thien province, Central Vietnam
  • 2004 Funded the construction of Hong Tien Elementary School, Thua Thien province, Central Vietnam
  • 2004 Launched the Vaccinations for Kids Campaign (VaKC) in partnership with Hue Medical School to provide free Hepatitis B vaccinations to children in rural areas; launched the College and University Scholarships Program to qualified students in Hue; launched Saving Children in Crisis (SCIC) to help preventing Child-Trafficking problems at the borders of Vietnam & Cambodia
  • 2005 Funded the construction of a Hoa-Sua Vocational Training School dormitory and Lotus school near Phnom Penh and Svay Pak
  • 2006 Launched the ACWP-Hoa Sua Scholarships Program to qualified students in Hue, Central Vietnam
  • 2007 Funded the construction of Add-on Eating & Kitchen areas to Quang Tho Elementary School, in Thua Thien province
  • 2007 Constructed a second (2nd) classroom and library for Hong Tien Elementary School, in Thua Thien province, Central Vietnam
  • 2007 Kicked off YoMP, a Youth Mentorship Program for High School & College students, USA
  • 2007 Grand-opening of Bloom Restaurant in Hue and raised $30,000  to build a Youth Center in  Svay Pak-Cambodia for Saving Children in Crisis  project to prevent young kids from trafficking 
  • 2008 Developing Medical Assistance & Information Technology Program (IT) in partnership with Au-Lac Institute USA
  • 2008 Developing Vocational English Program in partnership with Hoa-Sua
  • 2008 Developing Medical Assistance & Information Technology Program (IT) in partnership with Au-Lac Institute USA

  • 2009 Funded the construction of the Elementary School, in Thua Thien province, Central Vietnam
  • 2010 Launched the Mobile HealthCare Program (MHP) in partnership with group of volunteerd Doctors, South Vietnam
  • 2010 Funded the construction of the 2 Elementary Schools, Danang district, Central Vietnam
  • 2010 BLOOM-CAKE bussiness Grand Opening owned by one of Vocational Training Program receipient , Hue- Central Vietnam
  • 2011 Funded the construction of a Shelter for orphans (Man Coi Center) in Saigon City, South Vietnam
  • 2012 Funded the construction of 3 Elementary Schools, Thua Thien province, Central Vietnam
  • 2012 BLOOM-USA Catering Service Grand Opening
  • 2013 Funded the construction of 3 Elementary Schools, Central Vietnam (Hue&QuangNam)
  • 2014 Funded the construction of 3 Bridges to replace monkey bridges in South Vietnam
  • 2015 BLOOM SAIGON Restaurant and Culinary Vocational Training facility Grand opening in SAIGON Vietnam
  • 2015 Funded the construction of Elementary Schools, Highland Dalat and  funded the construction of 3 more  bridges to replace monkey bridges in South Vietnam​.
