To date, ACWP has funded a total of more than $45,000 for the New School Project.  In spring 2009, ACWP is set to begin construction for two new schools in Central Vietnam.  With the help of dedicated donors such as yourself, ACWP continue to fund for operations of 7 existing elementary schools in rural areas of Central region (Hue) Vietnam and now Da-Nang, and provided thousands of children with an opportunity to obtain a basic education.  {'Schools List' Click Here}.  

Background

Many children in Vietnam have limited access to education because there are simply not enough schools, especially in the rural or remote areas.  ACWP's policy is to build schools in remote and rural areas that are often neglected by other non-governmental organizations.  ACWP has limited monetary resources but we invest in the areas for the children's long term educational successes.   As a result, ACWP's scope is to build new or renovate dilapidated elementary schools to provide free education to children from 1^st – 5^th grades in rural Vietnam.  Most importantly, ACWP classrom is not only where these disadvantaged children can obtain a basic education but also where they can be kids, and perhaps, where they can have hopes and dreams.

"Build It and They Will Come"

For more than ten years, ACWP has made education accessible to thousands of children in the rural and remote villages of Dam Sam, Phu Hau, Cong Quan, Quan Thai, Hieu Thien, Quang Tho and Hong Tien in the Central region (Hue) Vietnam.   With the help from its dedicated volunteers and donors, ACWP partnered with local Vietnamese to build and operate 7 Elementary Schools.

ACWP maintains the narrow focus of building new schools and maintaining its operations. 

The reality is, seven is not enough to serve all the under-privileged children who are denied the rights to basic education due to their financial status.    These children who live in the remote countryside of Vietnam need more schools!

Our children are in need of a better future!

Our children are in need for better opportunity.

Our children are in need for hopes and dreams like other children in the world.

Our children need to know that we care.

But most importantly, our children are in need of an education.

In addition, with the fast growing market economy in Vietnam at present time, it is even more critical for our children to obtain an education and be prepared for a better transition into to the work force.

Our goal at ACWP is to provide the children with a safe haven for them to learn the fundamentals, to laugh as children, to interact with other children, to dream the impossible, to hope for a better future, to believe in their dreams, and to show them that they matter.

Classroom Project*

• $5,000 – $6,000 USD investment will build and furnish a brand new one-classroom school in Hue with all the necessities such as blackboard, tables and chairs to accommodate up to 100 students.
• $1,000 -$1,500 USD investment will cover all operational expenses for one-classroom school, including one teacher’s salary and other administrative expenses per school year.
• $350 USD investment will provide the entire class of 50 students each to receive one packet of milk once a week per school year.
• $200 USD investment will provide the entire class of 50 students each to receive one book bag per school year.
