Education Sponsorship Program
|

Started in 1997 in the Central Region of Vietnam (Hue), Education Sponsorship Program (ESP) is a scholarship sponsor program focusing on individual students. The sponsorship provides financial assistance to disadvantaged children, who are at risk of droping out of school due to their family’s financial hardship, and those who have been successful in other ACWP programs such as Cattle Rasing Program, Emergency Relief Program, to further enhance their education.
ESP seeks long-term investment from sponsors who look to the future generations of Vietnamese children by empowering them with basic education. Through the donors’ monetary support, students are provided access to primary through secondary, high school, or even university education. ESP’s main objective is to provide the selected students with a solid education in the early years and instill the importance of using education as a tool for self-reliance and independence. Most importantly, the goal of ESP aims to provide sustainable financial support to these children.
EligibilityThe qualified participants are the disadvantaged or orphaned children who live in the remote villages and have a strong desire to continue with their education. The selection criteria is based on the level of their economic circumstances as well as the ability of the participants to maintain minimum grade averages in school. For those who have achieved and maintained high averaged grades in their current academic achievements, these students, are now invited to participate in the long-term ESP.
